The 5CRG, CRSAFP led by Lt. Roda M Leoncito (QMS) PA, Deputy Commander together with the personnel of this unit participated in the summer effort of the Barangay Aquino, Davao City in partnership with React Davao and Junior Chamber Incorporated (JCI) Davao yesterday, May 8, 2014.
Said activity was annually conducted every May 8 of the year to cater male children and to utilize their summer vacation in getting their circumcision done which according to tradition it elevates the child’s growth. Early that day young boys ranging from ages 6 to 16 years old were already forming their line in order for them to be listed in the masters list of the children to avail free circumcision at the Barangay Hall of Barangay Aquino.
You can visibly see that some of the parents were around to accompany their children and some have also brought with them skirts while others are already in their so called skirts attire.
The above mentioned Barangay tried their best to accommodate this huge number of young lads but due to the loss of electricity they were forced to stop the operation. However, they were able to cater most of the boys despite this unexpected circumstance. Volunteer nurses were also around to help and assist in making the activity a successful one.
This “Operation Tuli” is ideally conducted every summer due to the fact that it needs time to heal and thus it is very necessary to be done on vacation period. At the end of the day, regardless of the pain they have undergone is the satisfied smile that at last they were able to surpass this particular “boy thing” as we all know.
Finally, the venture is effective especially to that crowd who availed said free operation which is done annually. Depicted smiles were also painted in their countenances despite the pain they experienced during operation the moment they step out the room since what’s shown is satisfaction and joy.
