The AFP is not yet certain of who will assume the position of the late Kumander Parago in Pulang Bagani Command 1 Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (PBC1 SMRC) based on his image and caliber…but HIS DEATH IS BELIEVED TO BE THE START OF THE DECLINE OF THE NPA IN DAVAO REGION.”- MGEN EDUARDO M. AÑO, Commander, 10th Infantry “Agila” Division, PA
The Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army and National Democratic Front leaders and members who are being held captive of the government of their trespasses of the nation’s law were given time to enter their plea whether guilty or not guilty of the crimes they are being accused of. Seriously, a perfect picture that our justice system is not biased.
They enjoy what other accused have been enjoying even caught in the act of doing things that are in violation to our laws. They still enjoy the right to be informed of their rights. They have the right to be represented by a lawyer of their own choosing and they are presumed innocent until they are proven to have violated the laws beyond reasonable doubt. This is how our government treats criminals and perpetrators in the exercise of fairness—giving criminals the fullest support that can be given—just, unbiased and not prejudiced.
But, is it also how the CPP-NPA-NDF (CNN) justice system works? May be not and certainly, not. Personalities they tagged as “TAKSIL NG BAYAN,” which in thoughtful considerations Ocampo, Tiamsons and other CNN members are, in the CNN court would not be even given a chance to be heard nor to be given a chance to be informed of the accusations against them and worse, would not be given a fair trial. As what we have known, the “TAKSIL NG BAYAN” are subject of their order to be executed with death penalty. And this they say, they exercise fairness.
As we continue to face life and converse with people from different walks of life, it is but fitting to put into words and share such intense emotions and questions that are lingering from a concerned Filipino.. He never lose track of the significant events that continue to affect not only our daily lives but the whole nation as well..this might picture an individual’s feelings but may also be of an entirety of a group of people with a common understanding and perspective:
I would like to ask the public if the recent attack of New People’s Army which left (7) burned cargo trucks and millions worth properties damaged is a work of people fighting for the right ideology. Is it not the work of bandits?
Army is a group of trained people who serves the country in times of war and in peace, while bandits are group of people who robs and takes unfair advantage to people. With these definitions, where NPA would fall under? Are they really an army who serves the country or bandits who takes unfair advantages to the people who, they claim they are serving?
In my own point of view, the NPA has ideology but derailed. They exist to fight, but to fight for wrong reason. They are not what supposedly their name means, and that they are not the New People’s Army.
It is an open knowledge that the NPA are in agreement the government through Human Rights and the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL). But what they did to those cargo trucks is a clear and direct violation to CARHRIHL.
Should we trust these people who enters into agreement and later on violates it? And should we call them an Army or bandits? If they are Army, can they be considered as army of the poor? Maybe yes, because they do not have anything that is why they took with them goods that are not theirs. But is it what Army does? Maybe no, because what they did is an act of bandits.
For me, they should vanish and be terminated because they do not have significance to our society and people. They only offer fear. Clearly, they are more of a bandit who robs other people belongings rather than an Army. They hate progress; they see development as threat to their existence. They break laws and they are like demons who want nothing but crime.
I hope that time will come that these NPA will vanish from this country to let the people live, breathe and move peacefully without any selfish interventions.
To all NPA members out there who are still dreaming to live life peacefully, it is not too late to surrender. Life is better without fear. Life is much better without the NPA. As Ralph Waldo said, “The real and lasting victories are those of peace, and not of war.
